Brush the surface of the sofa. Use a soft brush with a brush or a hairbrush for babies and go in small circular movements over the entire sofa to solve the infested dirt. Walk around particularly dirty areas until the area is clean.


The soft bristles of your brush should not damage the fabric.
Vacuum the sofa with the padded top. Set the vacuum to the lowest level and attach the upholstery brush to it. Use the attachment to easily go over the surface of your couch and vacuum the dirt you brushed loose.

Wipe your sofa weekly and vacuum it. Regular vacuuming prevents dirt from becoming embedded in the fibers of your sofa. You can brush your sofa more often or if you notice that dirt and dust have accumulated.
The more often you vacuum and brush your sofa, the less often you need to have it professionally cleaned.
Stain spills immediately with a cotton cloth. Stains as they occur prevent the stain from sinking deeper into the fabric of your sofa. Do not rub the stain. If you rub the stain, the stain will spread. [3]
If you let the stain dry, it is much harder to remove it.
Brush the fabric with a hairbrush. Comb with a soft brush towards the nickel of the fabric. This should help raise material on the outside surface of the couch.
Put fabric cleaner on the spot. Use a small amount of solvent-based textile cleaner. Usually these come as a foam or spray and contain no water, which Chenille can shrink. Do not saturate your chenille sofa, you just want to cover the area where the stain is located.
You can buy solvent-based upholstery cleaners in large department stores or online.
Check on the label whether the cleaner contains solvent.
Look for upholstery cleaner specially made for chenille fabrics.
Gently blot the stain with a clean rag. Put a stain cloth cleaner on the stain. Do not rub. Continue dabbing the stain with a clean rag until it is dry and you have removed the entire fabric cleaner from the sofa. Repeat the steps until the stain is removed from your couch.
